Edmundston (N.B.) – The theme song of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014 “Mon tour de te bercer” is being launched today, with several people attending the first live, public rendition of the song in Acadia of the Lands and Forests.
Together for the very first time as a duet, Roch Voisine and Natasha St-Pier join their voices to the thousands of Acadians for this rallying song that offers the whole world a vibrant portrait of today’s and tomorrow’s Acadia.
The president of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014, Émilien Nadeau, is delighted that this anticipated event is at our doors today: “We have been awaiting this moment with excitement and we are greatly pleased with the results, which proves the cultural vitality of Acadia. “Mon tour de te bercer” will guide us, with enthusiasm, towards the Congrès mondial acadien 2014.”, said Mr. Nadeau.
Our Acadia of the world will vibrate to the sound of “Mon tour de te bercer”, as it will be broadcasted, on radio, starting today. The theme song will also be heard during the festivities of 2014 and promotional events of the congrès, such as the pre-congress show “Carte Blanche à l’Acadie”, August 15th, 2013 in Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick.
“The theme song of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014 is a melodious postcard being sent to all the Acadians and their friends inviting them to join us in Acadia of the Lands and Forests, in August 2014, to celebrate and discover the richness of the Acadian culture.” said Roch Voisine, cultural spokesperson for the CMA 2014.
We would like to remind you that, last March, the CMA 2014 was announcing that the selection committee for the theme song had selected “Mon tour de te bercer”, lyrics by Samuel Chiasson and music by George Belliveau.
